Music & Movement takes a break this week
A quick programming note – there will be no Music & Movement class this Friday, Dec 7th but not too worry – Tamara will be bringing the funk back next week (her words actually)!

No Messy Hands this week
Scheduling changes: we definitely don’t like it but it sometimes happens. The combination of schedule conflicts and on-going preparation activities for this weekend’s events (Breakfast with Santa on Saturday and the Christmas Tree Auction on Sunday) unfortunately mean that we will not be able to support the Messy Hands activity this week (Wed – 10:30 to noon). We will definitely bring “The Mess” next week.

There are many wonderful moments that just happen at the museum (one of the joys of working there) and this was one just last week. Twin brothers had helped out with creating some ornaments for our wreath that will be part of the 12th Annual Christmas Tree Auction this coming Sunday and then went back to exploring in the museum. They quickly dug into the sand in the “Dig Site” exhibit and were very focused on finding all of the bones that were buried there. They combined their efforts and mixed their styles and had uncovered about half of them after a few minutes when I heard “we can’t do anything but not stop digging!” And not stop they did until all six corners and the bottom of the sand box were unearthed and all the bones recovered.

With this Thanksgiving Holiday week already upon us it seems more than appropriate to let you all know when we are open and what activities are planned.
Hours: we are only closing for Thanksgiving day itself (ya know – to take care of all that turkey and fixin’s and stuff…). So the rest of the week we will be open our normal hours -
- 10am – 4pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
- 1pm – 4pm Sunday
Programs/classes:
- Preschool and Homeschool Spanish are de vacaciones this week (on vacation… for the non-immersive folk) an will be returning to they regular times on Thursday and Tuesday & Thursday respectively.
- Messy Hand – Wednesday from 10:30ish to noon-ish
- Music & Movement – Tamara will be rockin’ the house at 10:30 Friday morning!
One note – that 11th Annual Christmas Tree Auction is a little less than two weeks away (Sunday, Dec 2nd) and we have a wreath still to prepare. A wreath that we really want the kids to help us decorate! So… the Central Sierra Woodcarvers have provided several Christmas/Winter themed cutouts to be painted up. These should be available throughout most of our open hours til sometime next week.
So you see – lot’s of stuff going on in addition to the normal awesomeness, so come on over, escape the whole Black Friday craziness, and spend some of the holiday week with us – we’d love to have you!
